Do any of these sound familiar?
“Mixing colors seems too complicated; I don't know where to start.”
“To make a palette look harmonious, you have to be born with an eye for art.”
“Watercolor is unpredictable; only experts can control it.”
If you thought any of these, it makes perfect sense. I believed them too for years.
But after 10 years of painting, I discovered something simple: what separates those who are “talented” from those who aren’t are three things that can be learned: observation, short, daily practice, and a guide to show you the way.
That’s exactly what you’ll find here.
Hi! I'm Sara,
Ten years ago, I was just starting out, too frustrated because the colors didn’t look the way I imagined them in my head. I tried, I failed, and, most importantly, I jotted down everything that worked.
Today, I’m an artist and author in Virginia; I illustrate classic stories for different brands, I published my own illustration book, and I have also organized retreats across different cities, with the sole purpose of discovering the art that the world hides.
This course is the guide I wish I’d had when I started. No shortcuts, no “secret talent,” just what really works.
When I’m not painting: I cook with lots of garlic, listen to true crime podcasts, and share my studio with my three cats and my husband Zac. 🌿

What my students are creating:
This course is for you if…
✓ You’ve been painting for a while, but your colors look dull or “muddy.”
✓ You already know the basics, but you don’t know how to put together a harmonious color palette.
✓ You’re self-taught and want some structure—to know what to practice first and what to practice next.
✓ You’re starting from scratch and want a solid foundation with no gaps.
You don’t need expensive materials or know how to draw. Just a willingness to practice 20 minutes a day.
By the end, you will be able to:
Paint without fear of the blank canvas
Mix colors that look harmonious
Paint in your own, unique voice
Course Content
The course has 7 modules for 10+ hours of learning and practicing. It also includes full-length artwork tutorials! You can pause and replay the videos as much as you want. The course is suitable for everyone, teens, adults and children because there is no explicit content. It would be best to take the course in order, because it will start from the basics to lessons at a more advanced level.
Practice makes perfect!
